Does buying black matter if the business you're buying from doesn't utilize a black supply chain?

Updated: Jun 24, 2020

The Black Lives Matter Movement against police brutality and systematic racism has ushered in another movement, "Buying Black".

In 2020, the Black Lives Matter movement has stimulated a lot companies of all sizes, and in every industry, to make contributions and commitments to advancing social justice efforts, economic opportunities, healthier living, and overall improve racial equality for the black-owned and people of color communities all over the world. Individuals within these groups also sought to buy and sell products/services and establish connections with other black-owned and people of color businesses. By doing this they would be able to give back, invest, and recycle profits within their own communities allowing them to grow and flourish.

Feeling inspired by the movement I looked at all the products that my family and I purchase regularly and thought to my-self which of these products are black-owned.
